Virdon and Burke, Saddle up, and, Move out, transporting Galen to a rendezvous with the Polar family. As they raise their improvised stretcher in the air, we get to see more clearly where Virdons backpack has gone to. It forms an essential part of the stretcher, supporting Galens back. Note the metal clasp of the shoulder strap that has been wrapped around one of the struts. Someone put a lot of thought into how the astronauts would construct this
