The fugitivescomplete with backpacksreach the crest of a hill and find themselves confronted by the ruins of Oakland at the start of one their most substantial adventures. If (like me) you want to accept the series production order as its chronology, and in view of the fact that the conclusion of the preceding story (The Gladiators) saw Virdon, Burke and Galen heading for the hills sans baggage (and, in Burkes case, sans waistcoat, too) we can only assume that after slogging it through the bracken for a time, the fugitives realised they needed their stuff, and returned to Kaymak to pay a visit to the Lost Property office. |
